My paintings are mostly based on certain means of transport like cars, trams and taxis represented repetitively in the canvas some in its original forms , some in terms of outlines multiple use of the same figure is done consciously to depict the ongoing trend of convergence in the society owing to the increasing flow of information in the globalize environment.
Usage of vintage modes of transport in my paintings is not merely a representation of the past but is used as a metaphor to highlight the shrinking lifespan of objects , status and even relationship in today’s world. Now a days it takes almost no time for a product that once appeared to be the market leader to be treated as vintage. Same type of futility is also being observed in the context of social status and relationships. This sense of non-permanency is complemented by the maps that construct the background of my paintings which, to me, act as an important link between the past and the present.
