Gary , This is very nice. The vase really shows as glass. Captured perfectly to show the sheen and stability of the glass. I feel the cherries could use something although I am a loss as to what it is. Mabey they are too uniform in size to convey reality. I could be wrong and difinitely do not mean anything critical just a thought. Over all very nicely done. Diane Deason
Hi Gary, Thanx 4 the comments but I have been painting for over 50 years now and have never thought twice about using oils, acrylics, inks or watercolours My lecturer told me that "you just stick the brush into the medium and paint". -that was 50 yrs ago and I am sure things ar different now. My yard stick for a good painting is like writing a letter.1) compose the letter/painting. 2)design the paragraph/layout. 3)Make a sentance that focuses on the focal point of the argument/painting. at this point stand back look at your painting through squinted eyes - If it makes your mouth water like looking at a grand meal, THEN YOU HAVE A GREAT PAINTING. This picture makes my mouth water.
