I used to paint pictures in a very contained and precise manner; reproducing images to near photographic detail. In this painting, I adopted a more intuitive approach and just let go. I stopped thinking about the end results and just enjoyed the journey, so to speak. The bThe painting turned out to be prescient in a way, because a couple of weeks after this, my father died in Spain. I had to go over and have him cremated to bring him back. I was told that I would have to wait for the embers to turn to ashes, so the Urn was cool enough before flying back to the U.K. Isn't life strange</p>]]></content:encoded>
