practicing use of different body weights, viscosities of pour, and heavy varnish and pigment less gel.

this piece is a little departure for me in terms of form vs formlessness. the 'tree' like flows are entirely by accident, and because of that, seeing them as 'trees' (or anything else) is a conceptual understanding.. and a nice one at that. in addition, the more chaotic blue/ orange areas at the bottom of this image, i view as the 'trees' opposition, thus creating, on the level of conception, a balance. this balance is what i like to see, albeit in this specific piece, by way of more readily identifiable methods.

trying to understand how the different paints will pour in different viscosities. here i used a mixture of soft gel acrylic, both with and without pigment, flow acrylics, varnish as an under layer, and black gesso as a ground.
