Dryads are tree nymphs in Greek Mythology. In Greek dry’s signifies "oak", from an Indo-European root "tree" or "wood". Thus, Dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general. "Such deities are very much overshadowed by the divine figures defined through poetry and cult," They were normally considered to be very shy creatures, except around the goddess Artemis, who was known to be a friend to most nymphs. Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs. These were the Hamadryads who were an integral part of their trees, such that if the tree died, the Hamadryad associated with it died as well. For these reasons, Dryads and the Greek gods punished any mortals who harmed trees without first propitiating the tree-nymphs.

My Life What can I say about My Life? That it has many aspects. Ups, downs, pushes, pulls, needs and wants just as many other lives have. As I look down at My Life in Anger I see many emotions. The Mother with many tears and regrets. The employee with many responsibilities, uncertainties, doubts and tears. The wife with the same responsibilities, uncertainties, doubts and tears, but who also has needs of love, caring and passion. As I look deep into the center of my being, what I realize exists is a deep longing for the lighthearted free spirited fun loving person who is a loved Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend and yes Employee. She is also the person who longs to jump that Freight Train feel the wind blowing through her hair and experience all the wonders this life has to offer. This is my dream, a dream of being alone with peace. At the end of the day as the darkness surrounds me I look in at My Life and wonder why. As I put my body, head and heart to rest with my mate by my side, I close my eyes with the thought that tomorrow will bring the life I long for. Janis

How well did you love and care about the people most important to you, How well did you treat the people that passed through your life never to be seen again?
