In all village festivals of Bengal, India, we found puppets made up of palm leaves commonly known as ‘Tal patar Sipahi’ in Bengali i.e, Watchman. In my painting, the lady is waiting for someone with a puppet in her hand. She is not lonely because she has a ‘Sipahi’ in her hand.
