The red berry on this 7-10 meter tree is eaten raw. The flowers which are pale-green and small appear around November signaling the first rains of the wet season. It is found in dry, sandy, jungle areas of the Northern Territory and has dark green leaves which are divided into 9-11 oval leaflets. It is so named as the timber has a natural poison to white ants or termites.
