Although this piece of artwork appears to have been created without any forethought there is more to it than meets the eye. The piece has been done in various stages of application. First, a coating of white gesso was applied over the entire stretched canvas which included some raised gesso lines applied in strategic locations to add texture and interest. After the gesso dried an application of warm colored acrylic paint followed to help avoid having the white gesso appear below the final stage of application of the pastel "scribbles". Clear acrylic coating was then applied to enhance the colors and protect the piece from damage and deterioration.
