Representative of a type of mask that is made by the Fang tribal society in Gabon in West Africa. I have made two of these masks. They are large. Each is 42 inches long.
Typically these masks are carved from wood but I sculpted these masks with a sculpting compound that I make. The masks that I have made have the hardness, density and similar weight that they would have had they been carved from wood. I created a wood grain texture on the surface of both masks and I hand-painted both mask with acrylics. These masks are available for purchase. Contact me for more details.
