Inspired by the way light strikes a certain subject, a scene that tells a story, or a brooding stormy sky; the Pacific Northwest has always been my favorite painting location.   

My style is a blend of impressionism and realism exposing a moment in time where light, weather, atmosphere, form and color all converge to create mood. One of my paintings might communicate strength, while another sensitivity or calm. Oil is my favorite medium. I also enjoy working in watercolor and collage from time to time. 

I studied art at the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington. For the past 18 years, I have shown and sold my work at the Washington State Fair.  I am a member of Rainier League of Arts and Pacific Gallery Artists.

WASHINGTON STATE FAIR

Sept. 2nd - Sept. 25th, 2016 (the fair is closed on Tuesdays).  I received an "Honorable Mention" for one of my oil paintings.  The fine art display is located on the 2nd floor of the Pavillion (near the Gold Gate), take the escillator up to the second floor.
