If the question were asked; what was your favorite subject in school? It was undoubtably my art classes! I can remember my 4th grade teacher making a big deal out of one of the art projects and excitingly telling my mother about it. I guess I remember that so well ... because that didn’t happen in reading, writing or arithmetic!
It wasn’t until high school that I really began to explore the different art forms, but it was my senior year that I seem to find and begin to develop a skill for portrait drawings. First in pencil and then into water color. I continued my first year out of high school with my portrait drawings, and then like many young men at that time, I went right into the working world, "construction" and as they say ... the rest is history!
I have been in the plastering trade for 35 years! I must say, I did find ways to exercise my artistic abilities in my work over the years. It wasn’t until the last two years that time has allowed me to experiment with some of my plastering materials on some different art projects. I have discovered a very unique process of sculpture...knowing these materials as I do, has enabled me to do a unique process of sculpture unlike clays and other known materials that are commonly used in the art of sculpture. My hope is to bring a different medium to the sculpturing world.
But the most important thing I’ve discovered, is this GOD-given-gift that has been in me all these years ... Is Waking Up!!!
