Born and raised in Knoxville Tennessee, being an artist seemed to be a dream that was so far out of reach. I could stand for hours and watch someone paint or draw. Many people encouraged me to try but I was convinced that I couldn't. I held on tightly to that most of my life.
My mind thought about art through the years. I held several jobs that allowed me to travel quite often, so my mind was shaped with many different ideas from sights I had taken in and faces of people I had met along the way. Getting what was in my mind out and on to the paper was still some years away.
I am self taught. With the use of many wonderful books and videos, I have taken hold of my passion. Most of my early learning involved acrylic paints. It was the first part of 2004 when I bought a drawing tablet and a basic set of pencils. That day things really took off. The thing I was longing for was in the pencils I held in my hand. That is my main medium. I also enjoy the pastels. I get lost in my work. I love being able to put what I envision on paper. Emotions, personalities and expressions are my creative sources.
I am a member of the Cumberland Art Society in Cookeville, Tennessee. Also a member of the Upper Cumberland Arts Alliance. I'm now into my fifth year of drawing. My greatest enjoyment is drawing portraits. Have you considered having your portrait drawn. I am available.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I do drawing them. Maybe one day, a piece of my art will be hanging in your showroom, house, or that special place where you go to relax and get away!! Thank you so very much for your interest in my work.
