Award-winning artist Michael Gillespie holds the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (With Honors) from the University of Texas at Austin, and has studied with a number of noted artists, including Daniel Greene and Ramon Kelly. He has also made three art museum study trips to Europe. Reproductions of his pastel illustrations have sold in Europe and Asia, and he has received commissions from companies such as Exxon, Verizon, and IBM, the Texas Ranger Museum, Scottish Rite Hospital, Howard Payne University, as well as from many private individuals. Mural work includes Black-eyed Pea Restaurants, Alamo Cafe, and Peter Wolf Scenic, Inc.
A Pastel Society of America Scholarship Award Winner, he is also a former President of the Pastel Society of the Southwest. With degrees in art and church music, he currently serves on the adjunct faculty at Dallas Baptist University, where he teaches Introduction to Fine Arts.
